Organize work with brands and brand kits

Keep each business's funnels, domains, research and ad accounts apart with brands, and give each brand a logo, colours, fonts and voice.

Written by Ryan

A brand works like a folder. The funnels, domains, research, offers, copy, creative and ad accounts for one business live inside it. Every workspace starts with a default brand, which you name during setup. Most people need just one. If you run several businesses or work for clients, add a brand for each so their pages, numbers and branding never mix.

Switch brands

The brand switcher sits at the top of the sidebar.

  1. Click the brand switcher.

  2. Pick All brands to see everything in the workspace, or pick one brand to narrow every page to it. The default brand is marked default.

  3. granvl opens Funnels for the brand you picked.

Click Manage brands at the bottom of the menu to open Settings > Brands.

Page

What a brand narrows it to

Funnels

That brand's funnels

Meta Ads, Google Ads

The ad accounts assigned to that brand

Creative, Copywriting

That brand's creative and copy lines

Offers

That brand's products, audiences and offers

Research

That brand's documents, sources and competitor ads

Settings > Domains

That brand's domains

Domains, funnels and ad accounts that were never assigned to a brand belong to the default brand. Research documents and folders created while All brands is picked show under every brand.

When you create something while a brand is picked, it lands in that brand. Under All brands, new domains, products and audiences land in the default brand.

Add a brand

  1. Go to Settings > Brands.

  2. Click + Add brand.

  3. Enter the Brand name.

  4. Click Create brand.

You can also create a brand while moving funnels: on Funnels, select the funnels, click Move to brand and choose Create new brand….

Each row on Settings > Brands shows the brand's funnels, products, ICPs and angles, and the name of its brand kit (or No kit). Click Manage to edit a brand.

Set up a brand's branding

A brand's branding is its brand kit: the logo, colours, fonts and voice your agent builds with.

  1. Go to Settings > Brands and click Manage on the brand.

  2. On Brand details, click Upload logo (PNG, JPG or SVG, up to 10 MB). The logo saves on its own and shows in the brand switcher.

  3. Open the Branding tab.

  4. Optional: under Build from your website, enter your site's address and click Build. granvl reads the logo, colours and fonts off the site and saves them. A tagline is filled in when the site has one.

  5. Adjust any field.

  6. Click Save changes.

Field

What it does

Logo (on Brand details)

Your logo for page headers and footers.

Colours: Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background, Text

Hex values such as #1D4ED8. Leave a colour blank to let the agent choose.

Heading font, Body font

Pick from the list, or leave Agent's choice.

Corner radius

Agent's choice, Sharp, Rounded or Pill, for buttons, cards and inputs.

Lock pages to this branding

On: every page on this brand's domains must use these colours and fonts. Off: the agent starts from them but may adapt.

Voice

How the brand sounds. The agent writes copy in this tone.

Tagline

The one-liner the brand leads with, up to 280 characters.

Be specific about voice. "Direct, reassuring, short sentences" gives your agent more to work with than "professional".

Running Build again overwrites the logo, colours, fonts and tagline with what it finds on the site. Your voice and lock setting stay as they are. If your workspace has only one brand kit, Build also fills in the privacy policy and terms links it finds on any domain that doesn't have them yet.

Connect branding to your domains

Your agent reads branding through the domain a page is published on, with get_brand_kit. Point each domain at its brand's kit:

  1. Go to Settings > Domains.

  2. Click Manage on the domain.

  3. Open the Brand tab.

  4. Under Brand kit, pick the brand's kit. It is named after the brand, or after its website if you used Build.

  5. Click Save.

If a domain has no kit and you ask your agent to save branding for it, the agent creates a kit named after the domain with update_brand_kit.

Your agent bakes the colours, fonts and logo into each page when it builds it, so changing a kit doesn't restyle pages that are already live. Ask your agent to apply the new branding to the pages you want changed, then review and republish them.

Move work between brands

Moving things between brands only changes where they are listed. Pages keep serving, and stats and tracking stay as they are.

What

How

A domain

Settings > Domains, Manage, Brand tab, then pick a Brand and click Save. Moving the domain also moves the funnels published on it. The Brand field shows when the workspace has more than one brand.

Funnels

On Funnels, select the funnels, click Move to brand and pick a brand.

Ad accounts

Settings > Brands, Manage, Ad accounts tab. Tick the accounts this brand can see and click Save accounts. An account can serve more than one brand. Accounts you don't assign stay with the default brand.

Your agent can move a domain, and the funnels on it, with move_domain_to_brand.

Folders belong to a brand

Folders on the Funnels, Offers, Copywriting and Creative pages belong to one brand. A folder made under one brand isn't listed under another. When a domain moves to another brand with its funnels, those funnels leave their old brand's folders.

Work with brands through your agent

  • Name the brand in your request. Your agent looks it up with list_brands and builds there.

  • When the workspace has more than one brand and you don't name one, your agent should ask which brand the work is for. If it doesn't pass a brand, new funnels land in the default brand.

  • Research reports and competitor ads your agent pulls are filed under the default brand.

Rename or delete a brand

  • Rename: Manage, Brand details, change the Brand name, then click Save changes.

  • Delete: Manage, Danger zone, Delete brand. Only workspace owners and admins can delete a brand, and the default brand can't be deleted.

Warning: Deleting a brand can't be undone. Its domains, funnels and ad accounts move back to the default brand. Its products, audiences, offers, research sources and copywriting lines are deleted with it.
