The MCP connection gives your agent granvl's tools. The granvl skill teaches it how to use them well: how to build pages that track and submit correctly, how forms and conversions work, how to run Google and Meta campaigns, and how to read your results. Install it once after you connect your agent and it loads in every session.

What the skill contains

The skill is a folder called granvl-app. It holds a main file, SKILL.md, that your agent reads first, and resource files it opens when a task needs them. The main ones:

The skill also sets ground rules your agent follows. For example, it makes every change through granvl's tools, never by clicking around the dashboard, and it asks for your yes before anything irreversible, such as publishing, unpublishing or deleting.

Get the skill

There are two ways to get it. Which one you use depends on your agent.

Download the ZIP. On the MCP page, select Download skill under Granvl skill. The connect steps also have a Download skill (.zip) button. The file is granvl-app.zip and contains the granvl-app folder.
Ask your agent to pull it. Once your agent is connected, it can fetch the skill itself with the get_skill tool. Paste this prompt:

Pull the latest granvl skill (call the granvl get_skill tool) and install it per its instructions so it loads every session.

Install it in your agent

Agent	How to install
Claude desktop or claude.ai	Download the ZIP. In Claude, go to Settings > Capabilities > Skills > Upload skill and pick it.
Claude Code	Paste the prompt above. The skill goes to `~/.claude/skills/granvl-app`.
ChatGPT app	Download the ZIP, drag it into your chat, and paste: "Install this granvl skill ZIP so it loads every session, then restart so granvl connects."
Codex CLI	Paste the prompt above. The skill goes to `~/.codex/skills/granvl-app`, and Codex adds a line to `~/.codex/AGENTS.md` telling it to read the skill before granvl work.
Grok Bot	After you attach granvl with @, paste the prompt above. The skill goes to `~/.grok/skills/granvl-app` on the bot's computer, and the bot adds a line to its Prompts telling it to read the skill.
Cursor	Download the ZIP and paste: "Unzip the granvl-app.zip I just downloaded into .cursor/skills/granvl-app/ in this project and reload, so the granvl skill loads every session."
Any other agent	Paste the prompt above. The skill goes to `~/.granvl/skills/granvl-app`, and the agent adds a line to the instruction file it reads every session (such as `AGENTS.md` or `.cursor/rules`).

After installing, restart your agent and start a new session. Connect your agent lists how to restart each client.

Verify the skill loaded

Start a new session with your agent.
Ask Granvl: confirm the skill is installed.
Check that the reply begins with Granvl skill ready, followed by a short line on what the agent can now do.

If the reply doesn't start that way, the skill didn't load:

Check the skill folder is in the location for your agent (see the table above).
Restart your agent fully and open a new chat.
Ask again.

If your agent can't keep files, it can still read the skill straight from get_skill during a session. Ask it to call get_skill before it starts building.

Keep the skill up to date

granvl updates the skill as the product changes.

Agents that installed it with get_skill can check for a newer version. Ask: "Check whether the granvl skill is up to date with get_skill and reinstall it if there's a newer version." When nothing has changed, get_skill says so and skips the download.
Agents that use an uploaded ZIP (Claude desktop, ChatGPT app, Cursor) need a fresh copy. Download the ZIP again from the MCP page and install it the same way.

If something isn't working

Your agent has no granvl tools: that's the connection, not the skill. Follow Connect your agent.
Your agent builds pages that don't submit or track correctly: check the skill is installed with the steps above, then ask the agent to rebuild the page. See Troubleshoot common granvl issues.
